About Viewpoint Autism

Viewpoint Autism Services is formed by Allison Hexter who has been working in the Autism field for the past 12 years. Until recently, she has lived in Smithers, BC where she worked as an Autism Consultant, Child & Youth Consultant and

with Children in Care of the Ministry.

Previous experience in the education field along with her time in Northern BC has given her the opportunity to work with diverse communities and gain hands on experience with an array of developmental disabilities. In December 2018, Allison moved to

Nanaimo, BC with her husband and two children where they have settled in with island living.

Allison has studied at SFU and UBC receiving her Certification in Elementary School Teaching and has attended UCLA where she became a Certified PEERSĀ® Consultant under the training of  Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson.

Allison's passion for working with children and youth is shown within her work, training and continued advocacy for inclusion within the private and public sectors of the education system. When she isn't working with children and youth, you can find her enjoying time with her children, exploring local beaches and taking in the expansive culture of Nanaimo.
